Creating an authentic Esports experience for the “Continental Cup”

The Continental Cup was a global professional FIFA Tournament hosted by Sony Interactive Entertainment as part of the Paris Games Week. During the event, the top 32 players from around the globe competed for multiple prizes and glory for their country, earning points towards the following global series.

Delivering the Esports experience

To create the best possible experience for both players and fans, build a rocket was tasked as the consulting Esports agency of choice. We supported the event with controlling, player management and quality assurance. The goal was to execute an authentic Esports event smoothly despite the challenging environment at Paris Games Week, the biggest Gaming & Esports Event in France with over 300.000 attendees.
In addition to player support and monitoring of the media day, our main task was to coordinate the event together with the tournament organizer, ESL, and to ensure that the quality of the tournament and the broadcast met all the requirements of an authentic and engaging Esports event.

Efficient event coordination

We created concepts for content formats and campaign planning on social media, took over the monitoring and controlling of the overall operation and managed stakeholders wishes and demands. The most essential component of these activities was the target group-oriented communication and a sense of community, as authenticity is the most crucial requirement for the success of an activation, especially in Esports.

Authenticity is key

The complex environment and the large number of international participants required a highly flexible approach to planning the tournament. The event was a complete success, and we were able to ensure that everyone involved was completely satisfied, not least thanks to our expertise in the French market, and that fans were able to experience a great event at one of the biggest gaming events in the world.
